THE GNOMON SCHOOL
I gave this talk with my longtime friend and creative partner, Banks Boutté, at The Gnomon School in Los Angeles in December 2019.
As we were closing out one decade, we wanted to take some time to look ahead at the next ten years and think deeply about how technology, entertainment, game engines, virtual production, and real-time creation would continue to evolve throughout the 2020s.
This talk is about the future of worldbuilding. It covers the rise of virtual worlds, the growing importance of 3D assets, the convergence of film and games, and our belief that artists would play a central role in shaping the next era of digital experiences.
At its core, KitBash3D and the Virtual Frontier is a conversation about where creativity was heading at the start of a new decade. It reflects our belief that the worlds we imagine are becoming the worlds we inhabit, and that giving more creators access to the tools of worldbuilding would help shape the future of entertainment.
