Creating Worlds.

From an early age, I had a front-row seat to how technology can transform an industry. I grew up in a special makeup effects studio, helping my parents create creatures and characters out of clay, rubber and silicone. At the same time, I saw how artists with computers were changing how films were made.

At 18, I joined a visual effects studio and began my career designing digital worlds for film and games. I apprenticed under legendary artists Syd Dutton and Cedric Tomacruz, whose careers began in traditional matte painting, creating cinematic worlds with oil paint on glass. Building on their techniques, I helped develop digital workflows that combined matte painting, 2.5D projections, and 3D environments, expanding what was possible with the medium.

During my tenure in visual effects, I contributed to over 200 projects, witnessed the rise of YouTube and digital distribution channels, and partnered with filmmakers who used online audiences to launch careers from independent passion projects to major studio productions.

Again and again, I found myself at the center of the same pattern: new technologies emerged, creative disiplines evolved, and the ones who thrived were the ones willing to evolve with them.

Enabling Creators.

In 2017, I co-founded KitBash3D with the mission to enable and inspire creators. We saw that 3D technology was transforming creative industries but there was a problem.

Teams were spending 30-50% of their budget building 3D assets, and they were throwing them away after every project. At the same time, the complexity of 3D remained a barrier for many creators trying to create interactive content.

We began creating libraries of reusable and customizable 3D models and materials. By 2025, KitBash3D Assets had been adopted by more than 250,000 artists across 180 countries, as well as over 5,000 studios across film, television, games, advertising, and technology.

Along the way we helped a generation of artists transition from 2D to 3D. We partnered with Apple, Pixar, and NVIDIA to advance interoperable 3D standards. We built some of the first pipelines that brought professional-quality assets into UGC platforms such as Fortnite, helping iconic franchises including Star Wars, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Walking Dead reach a new generation of creators.

Leading Organizations.

Since 2025, we have brought together KitBash3D, Greyscalegorilla, Sketchfab, and ArtStation into The KitBash Group, creating one of the largest ecosystems of tools, platforms, and communities serving more than 30 million creators worldwide.

Advances in generative technology have increasingly shifted capital and attention towards consumer-focused products, while the needs of creative professionals are often being overlooked. We saw an opportunity to consolidate a highly fragmented market around professional creators and build a very impactful ecosystem to fuel them.

From helping studios responsibly leverage emerging technologies like LLMs and generative models, to advancing interoperable standards that make 3D content usable across every application, to creating new pathways for creators to find economic opportunities in an increasingly global market, we are actively shaping the future of creative work.

Sharing Experiences

Over the last two decades, I've witnessed, participated in, and helped lead periods of extraordinary change across creative industries. Sharing what those experiences have taught me has become one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

Through essays, keynotes, and conversations, I explore the ideas shaping how I think today and the questions I believe will matter tomorrow. If you're building something ambitious, navigating change, or simply striving to become a better creator or leader, I hope you'll find something here that helps.
