As Art Director at Elastic, I explored a series of concepts for the end titles of Star Trek Beyond, which was being released during the 50th anniversary of the Star Trek franchise.

Rather than focusing on scenes from the film, I became interested in the evolution of the USS Enterprise itself. Working from the various incarnations of the ship across five decades of Star Trek, I developed concepts that celebrated its design history in much the same way an automotive commercial might showcase an iconic vehicle. Chrome reflections, dramatic backlighting, and carefully framed silhouettes were used to highlight the elegance of the ship and the craftsmanship behind its design.

Many of the concepts explored layering different versions of the Enterprise on top of one another, revealing how the vessel had evolved over time while preserving its essential character. Others focused on abstract compositions and close-up details that emphasized the beauty of the form itself.

Although this direction was ultimately not pursued in the final film, these remain some of my favorite designs from my time at Elastic and a tribute to one of the most iconic vehicles in science fiction.
