As Art Director for the opening title sequence of The Crown, I had the opportunity to help explore one of the show's central ideas: how a single object can embody centuries of history, power, and tradition.

Our team became fascinated by the Crown itself, not simply as a royal artifact, but as a symbol that had witnessed generations of triumph, conflict, duty, and sacrifice. I spent considerable time researching the individual gems, materials, and craftsmanship that make up the Crown, each carrying its own story and significance.

These early designs explored the idea of treating the Crown as a landscape, moving through its surfaces and details in a cinematic way. From the richness of the purple velvet and polished gold to the brilliance of the rubies and diamonds, every element was designed to evoke a sense of grandeur, beauty, and drama worthy of the stories it represented.

The final title sequence was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Main Title Design in 2016.
